Salesforce Training on the New Trailhead Website

How can a brand new user or an experienced developer quickly learn the ins and outs of Salesforce functionality? In addition to providing individualized training for our clients, we love recommending the new on-line, self-paced training available directly through the new Salesforce Trailhead website. 

What is Trailhead? Salesforce Trailhead is a fun and user-friendly website where anyone can learn Salesforce functionality for free. The training material on the website is organized into "trails" for different areas of emphasis. Currently there are 13 trails and 53 individual modules. For example, there is trail called "Learn CRM Essentials" with four individual modules covering topics about basic CRM functionality for Accounts, Opportunities, Leads, Contacts, and the Service Cloud.

One of our favorite things about the Salesforce Trailhead website is the fact that Salesforce lets anyone create a free developer Salesforce instance. This developer org gives you a safe place to practice Salesforce functionality without affecting live production data. The Trailhead website links to your individual developer org and evaluates whether you have completed the practice exercises correctly. One of the fun aspects of the website is earning Trailhead badges which can be shared on your social media accounts for bragging rights.
